Mat Pilates Training Course

LCD Mat Pilates infuses the classical Pilates principles with an added contemporary flow.  In this training you will understand the core values that Pilates is rooted in, learn the classical beginners mat exercises and the ability to build on these basic exercises to create a safe, dynamic and challenging workout.

6/1 & 6/2 12 to 4 

6/8 & 6/9 12 to 4

Module 1 – week 1 & 2

  • Introduction to Pilates (brief history of Joseph Pilates)

  • 6 Principles

  • Pre-Pilates

  • Classical beginner exercises

Module 2 – week 3 & 4

  • Props and when to use them.

  • Magic circle exercises

  • Blue ball exercises

  • Theraband exercises

  • Arm weight series

Module 3 – week 5

  • Programming a class. Cueing, how to work with a group and still offer individual attention, injuries* *modifications*

  • Reinforce the spine positions, the necessity for order and if you are adding anything remember to always ask why?

  • *Homework for week 6 – program a class and be prepared to teach a 30 minute class to the group.*

Week 6

  • Teach a 30 minute mat class to the group + feedback
